Leaves, leaves, leaves, ... shadow and the easter bunny

Who would have imagined that Easter turns out to be such a stressful period of time this year?
Though... yeah, I probably shouldn't complain too much, for this year everything turned out to be quite favourable (in terms of Easter as a commercial holiday).

On that note, I hardly managed to get anything done here, sadly of course. Still I will most definitely start re-editing 'Sleeptalking' during the next few weeks, alongside to some other projects of mine (as well as economics studies... blargh... err.. I mean  'Hell Yeah!').
Then again... probably nothing too unusual nowadays. Lack of focus in this dreaded generation of mine...! Anyone? No? Not enough for an excuse? Hrm, I'll come up with something better... At least I'll try to.

Nonetheless first things first... right now I'm focused on getting done reading 'House of Leaves' by Mark Z. Danielewski. One could say I've been devouring it over the last two days, so I guess I'll be done with that rather sooner than later.
(I love it...woooooh, it's frikken great!)

Finally, due to recent events of a personal nature (not thee most pleasant I might addeth - to say the least) I came up with a few stray ideas for poems and such. Therefore, should you, my dearest reader be interested in those, check back for updates on that subject. I'll get them uploaded once I get those actually sorted out in my head.

That should be all for just now and I should be getting back to reading onwards! The sooner I'm done, the sooner I can get back to my own stuff and try to refocus! (No worries though, it usually isn't as hard as it sounds...)

Once again, thanks for reading,
Marc the Explorer

P.S.: New Kitteh up shortleeh!

Poking around the corner of (probably) infinity

"And with strange aeons even death may die."

Quite a few people could/should know this quote nowadays, for the rest who can't come up with where to put it, it's from H.P. Lovecraft, the 'dark and baroque prince' of 20th-century horror (thank you Stephen King for this great title).
I got caught up on reading my little collection of Lovecraftian shorts a while ago and now I'm stuck with ol' Cthulhu going rampage in my brain again. Just after I thought I'd managed to get rid of him for once... But whatcha gonna do?

Despite from the great old one trying to drive me insane... again, I think I got myself convinced on giving 'Sleeptalking' another final go on the merry-go-round of editing over the next few weeks before I'll get everything lined up so that it'll be available for everybody.

Oh ... and I think I'm getting somewhere with the plans I have for the "Beni James Honeypaw" page and stuff.

But yeah, that should be all for just now, as I'm trying to enjoy the sun of this years beautiful spring without giving in to every doodad that comes running up screaming to me to either occupy me or kill off my good mood.

I hope everybody is having a great day and great Easter holidays in general.
Ia Cthulhu!

P.S.: New Kitteh!

It's all coming along... just like Goldilocks did...

And then... THERE WERE BEARS! *turns his head towards the shelf to his right*
... and uhm... porridge.

So, the week is almost over and the weekend is also already slowly, slowly fading away.
Okay okay..., maybe I'm dramatizing a bit, but you get my drift.

As this first week commences to cease away and comes to a close I want to shortly recall what I managed to do so far to this site.
Shortly after my first blogpost I put up the promissed 'About Me'-Page where you can find at least the most important information about myself (hah... as if anybody would care..)
I also got the whole 'Random' stuff done for now. For the moment it will serve as a place for me to put up random links to websites I greatly enjoy.
Under 'Poetry' you'll find a few of my earlier poems, yet keep in mind that they are all written in German.
And finally, today I added a page called 'Coming Soon' which will serve as my personal playground to post teasers or previews of what I'm working on at the moment. Also the first bits are already up, and it's actually quite a lot for a start, as you get to read the whole prologue of my current work-in-progress 'Loner's Peak'.
So now come on... head on over there and enjoy reading it.
Come on... cooome on.
Now go!
Sheesh... now finally go and start reading already.
...

Aw well. More updates to come as I try to figure out a way on how to get the first drafts I made for 'The Tales of Beni James Honeypaw MacLeod' up onto the site in a suitable fashion.

I hope everybody had a great week and is having an equally great weekend so far.
Thanks for your attention,
Marc

Getting started is ... well... aww

Hello everyone and -body reading this,

I'm happy that you found your way to this little page and blog of mine. As you can already tell it is fairly new, so the two questions that should instantly come up as you keep on reading this are "What the hell is this place?" and "Why should I continue reading?".
Well, I will try my best to answer both of them for you, my dearest reader, in an acceptable fashion.
The first of the two should be the more complicated one, then again... not really if I think about it.

So..., this place is my own little showcase, if I might call that way. Or at least, it will be my showcase in the near future, as I will fill up the empty space with actual content.
I consider myself an artist, an artisan with the written word... but here I go again, exaggerating.
Nevertheless, I am author of two longer stories, one of which being a Warcraft-FanFiction whilst the other remains to be original fiction, as well as several shorts and a decent number of poems (yet most to all of the poetry is composed in German).

What should you expect from this page? Well, first of all, you can have a look at my writing of course. So if you want to get an idea of how I took on a gothic horror novel, just head over to the page for Sleeptalking (reading sample included). Or if you are interested in my FanFiction, you can find some more details about it on the page for Bloodstained Shadows, including links to places where you can read the full story.
I will be adding more pages for upcoming projects as well as for my poetry and random stuff as time progresses.
For the blog-part of this site, I hope to be updating consitently at least once or twice a week in which I intend to share my ideas, plans for the future as well as my own experiences within the writing and publishing world so far.
If you actually want to know a bit more about me, I will also be adding one of those dreaded "About the Author" pages soon.

Oh, I almost forgot about the kittens. Yeah, not much to explain there..., I'm a somewhat random person from time to time, so why not have random kittens? Just saying...

This should be all for just now.

I hope I have managed to get you, my dearest reader, interested and to have a gander at my little page here, also hoping that you enjoy the entertainment that I have to offer for you.

Thank you very much for your attention,
Marc
