Wouldn't it be a strange thing to imagine? As if imagining something as untangible as this wasn't hard enough to begin with, but it being made of jelly too? Go ahead, try - it's fun... hrhr. And... mhm... jelly-internet... somebody get EMT on the job!
Anyways... the reason for my blabbering are the constant connection problems I had today - yay for providers. (Chances are I'll lose mah interwebz at least once while typing this blogpost... anything less would surprise me.) As far as I can see my router is trying to d/l an update for its system that was played onto the servers last night but it usually only kills my connection and starts flashing in a nice bright red, telling me the d/l server didn't want to share his secrets. Gonna be a fun afternoon/evening I guess...
For a good side-effect, the loss of internet brought me to do a lot more writing than I had originally intended on doing today, because I'm still tired from yesterday evening.
But I'll keep the ramblings to a minimum today as I never know when I'll get thrown out of the web again...
Here you go:
*~*
As a matter of fact - I've got big-time company backing me up. A whole squad is fitting into the cramped space next to me, just like in the days. Almost makes me feel special and even a bit homesick I think for myself whilst barely hiding away a sleazy grin from my face.
Now that's something that didn't happen for quite a while, I believe.
*~*
It's just a short one for today. The story is heating up and as I've already explained a while back, I don't want to spoil too much of it.
And I still don't know how my other laptop's doing... He's on holiday without me and doesn't even write a postcard back home. :<
As always thanks for reading and have a great Tuesday!
Marc, the Haunted... haunted? by what you ask? This.. yeah...
EDT.: And I did lose connection just before getting done... Go Foresight, GO
Welcome everybody as I explore the vast worlds trapped within my own imagination, ranging from the darkest corners of this earth up to bright and sunny fields of joy... and such. Also, as promissed, random kittens now and then!

[RBS] - What a beautiful day it is
..., indeed I dare say.
The week's drawing to a close, the world is turning colder by the day (at least on the northern hemisphere) and Christmas approaches! Yay!(Guess it hasn't been linked often enough already this year) But not to forget that Halloween's also still on the list. Just a little bit more than a week from now... Even more YaY!(Got to love that movie.. should really take the time and watch it again..., maybe around next week.)
As for I now I'm currently editing a few things on Loner's Peak - so nothing out of the usual and I'm trying to get into the mood for writing more of the actual storyline. I already have the next few chapters all layed out for me in the back of my head, but sometimes it gets a bit tedious. So nothing out of the usual there. And as I already start with the writing stuff again even though I tried to secure the Sundays of the week for more bloggish stuff it seems not to really work out for me. Hrmpf...
Anyways, yesterday I took a day off the writing and editing and went to the anual "Freimarktsumzug" in Bremen. The "Freimarkt" is a two-week long fun fair typical for Bremen, taking place during the last two weeks of October each year. And there is usually a festive procession on one of the weekends during that time - I'm not too sure about the actual sheduling to be honest.
So we had some plain old fun, looking at the different floats, listening to bad music most of the time and standing in the cold. Could have been better - but could have also easily been worse. (There was free beer... if you were quick.)
Also: Spending hours and hour on searching texts and articles for wonderful topics like migration.. or integration.. or education of young children is kinda fun... ... ... No, not really. You got me on that one. But helping out members of the family is a good thing, amiright?
And as a final statement, I'd like to throw out that I still think lots of the things Blizzard Entertainment announced on this years Blizzcon for the upcoming expansion of WoW sounds like late (or early) April's Fools jokes.
But I grew maybe just a bit bitter over the last year or two concerning that particular game... ^^
But enough about me, more thinking about Jonathan Mortinson lies right ahead.
As always thanks for reading my ramblings and have a nice rest of the weekend and a great start into the next one. Adventures await!
Marc, the strawberry-flavored - maybe blood-flavored, but that doesn't quite sound as tasty...

Dabbling with things unknown to me...
... or well, at least I don't really have too much insight in.
Therefore... SING TO ME MY MINIONS! *aaaaaahhhhhhh*
So after having finished whining, I've decided to have a look at something totally different today, which being ... you guessed it ...music. And believe me I can't read notes nor even hit a single one when trying to sing, though due to my auditory nature listening to it is something dear and important to me (...can't stand total silence for most of the time).
What made me come up with this was my recent discovery of the 30 Day Song Challenge Facebook page. So I had a look at the rules page, came up with a list of fitting songs and started posting away. Unfortunately I won't be able to keep it up for the full 30 days, because I probably won't be able to access the interwebs for a few weeks in the nearer future (details on that coming soon). But 'sometimes-smart' lil' me came up with the perfect solution for my problem.
I'll just post the list right here (with links to y/t hoping they'll work for most of you).
For everybody's enjoyment - or whatever you might call it.
Yet a word of warning beforehand: there are some songs from german bands, sometimes with german lyrics, but yeah... live with it and give them a chance.
Here we go:
I'd like to note that I'm usually not that into live vids or recordings, still Youtube.com's not that cooperative when you're living in Germany so sadly I had to pick a few for the list. Except for the live performance of H.I.M. which you'll find in the list - that one's on purpose.
There you go, feel free to start arguing with be about my choises or my taste in music in general if you wish so. Regardless I'd like to say: Kudos to all the artists out there just doing what they want to do and being successful while sticking with it.
I hope you enjoyed this little venture into my taste of music with a lot of songs that actually mean quite a lot to me on most parts.
This would be all for now. And now I'll be getting back to watching the dreamhack coverage as well as the myths and legends that lie dormant within the holy scrolls of marketing management. I've got a test heading towards my way at the end of the week and it should be better to be prepared for that.
More writing stuff once I've got a little bit more time for it. (Which should be rather sooner then later.)
As always, thanks for reading.
Marc, the over-encumbered
P.S.: Moar kittez commin' - hopefully less dead-looking this time.
more seemingly unrelated song-quotes
"Oh, there ain't no rest for the wicked,
Money don't grow on trees.
I got bills to pay,
I got mouths to feed,
There ain't nothing in this world for free.
I know I can't slow down,
I can't hold back,
Though you know, I wish I could.
No there ain't no rest for the wicked,
Until we close our eyes for good".

Hunting for... er... whatever
...and other shenanigans
Yeah, getting along with hunting for a part-time job, but nothing too exciting to tell you about all that, merely one of the many daring endeavours or whatever you want to call it, that's on my list.
Sadly I'm still a bit under the weather (in this case quite literally) as the current ongoing climate changes from warm to stormy to cloudy to warm again and back to cold and cloudy yet again don't seem to mix well with myself suffering from migraine with an aura.
But meh... it could be worse. The actuall headaches shouldn't start before ... next September, I guess? I kinda got a rather consitent scedule for those. Yet the many side-effects keep on haunting me when the weather conditions start to get all jumpy like during the past weeks. And they truly are persistant...
Concerning "Loner's Peak" I got around to finishing the current chapter yesterday. (not even 12.000 words so far in total :<)
Nevertheless I have for you a short excerpt from the text. Not too much, just a few lines:
***
I already know that I’m going to have to sit around for probably over an hour to come once I arrive at my destination. Another pointless hoop that they let us jump through for nothing but their sole amusement, as they watch from somewhere afar how we blindly follow their orders without ever asking.

Then again... that’s not true.
Once... a rather long time ago, a few years, maybe five or six, somebody asked. It was during the first few weeks that I was on the job. That guy, barely as young as I was. A bit too blunt for his own good and just as new as myself. But my instincts served me right...
He got shot on the spot. Or rather... executed.
A bullet straight to the head. Not much of a fuzz. Quick, but not as clean as they had hoped for. I can’t even recall his name. Only the image of the crimson gushing towards the rest of us.
Since then nobody ever asked again. But I guess sooner or later somebody will be dumb enough to do so. Once this dying memory has been discarded completely. Or at least the people bearing it. The only thing I’m sure of... it won’t be me.
***
As usual, feel free to comment on this little scrap of text, but keep in mind it's still only a first draft and also please spare me on the "The grammars not right!" and "Those aren't complete sentences!". I'm aware of that and I can assure you... it is indeed intended.
Now finally before I return back to the aether itself... I can't get rid of it! That song's stuck in my head... Damn you Youtube!
As always, thanks for reading,
Marc, the... whatever.
